French Quarter is the music/art/performace project fronted by Stephen Steinbrink, which is me (I am typing this right now) and I will stop talking (typing?) in the 3rd person.

NEWS
8/03/08 - Tour is over, and now I live in Tucson. This is kind of weird. I got done unpacking all of my shit in my new house, and the vast amount of empty space is intimidating. I don't own a ton of things. Also, if you live in Tucson, and you want "French Quarter" to play at your gallery, birthday party or your all-ages music event, please get in touch. Or just stop by. My address is 247 E. Adams, Tucson, AZ 85705. Send me mail!

Thurston Moore (that one dude from that one band)  and Byron Coley (Forced Exposure Mag) have reviewed the "Self-Titled" album by "The French Quarter" for their article "Bull Tongue" in this month's Arthur Magazine, as well as many other Gilgongo Records releases. You can pick up the magazine from your local independent record store, or you can read it online here.

Also, I am all sold out of the LP+CD+Poster combo version of the "Self-Titled" record. I still have a few hundred copies of the CD only version, but if you want to order the vinyl, please go to Gilgongo Records, who still has plenty.

Thank you to everyone who made these last tours worthwhile -- Katy Davidson, Aaron Shepard, Squeeky Rice, Polka Dot Dot, Eva Aguila, Brian Miller, the 578 Buchon crew, Mount Righteous, Dan in Brooklyn, the Vocal House for not hating us after we missed the show, Elisabeth Wood, Jocelyn Noir, Moshe Koenick, the Long Beach sweethearts, the kids in Charleston, SC for being so awesome and friendly, Nick & Margot, The New Deli, The Binglers, Brittany Gould, Nick Houde, Buddy, Travis, Joe, The Stove, Hannah, Emily, the Flagstaff Punx, and everyone else I am forgetting.

There a bunch of new shows posted below with Mount Eerie, Foot Ox, Madame Zero, Mad River Glenn, Thanksgiving, and White Fang. They will all be inspiring and exciting concerts.

6/23/08 - James Fella and I just returned from the first leg of the "THANK YOU FOR COMING TO OUR SHOW CONCERT SERIES TOUR 2008". It was fun. Eternal thanks to everyone who came/helped/cooked/sang. Special thanks to Sofia from Oakland for giving me a the treasure of an animal made of felt, Cecelia from San Luis Obispo who knitted me a beer koozy, the guy in Oakland who bought an LP (who was way too drunk and now I sort of feel bad for taking his money, because I really don't think he knew what he was buying), and also the girl who works at the taco cart in Portland for being so smiley and giving me extra salsa. The second half of the tour with GLOCHIDS will begin on July 1st. Check the show listings below for updates!

6/01/08 - I am relocating to Tucson, AZ in August where i'll spend my time recording, working, gardening, cooking and playing shows. I will be back in Phoenix from time to time to attend and play shows. Everything will stay the same except a I will be living in a different house 90 miles south of Phoenix. Do not worry.

I will be playing shows all over the United States in the months of June and July. I am probably playing in your town. Check the dates below to make sure. Also, there will be a new 7" coming out later this summer, then a new edition of "Manys" and then a new full length LP + CD + Poster to follow. Hopefully the first two will be out in time for the tour in July. We will see.
